New halogenated additives to propylene carbonate-based electrolytes for lithium-ion batteries

摘要: Lithium cannot be electrointercalated into graphite in an electrolyte containing propylene carbonate (PC) as the only solvent species. In order to improve cycleability of electrodes presence PC two methods were used: use mixtures and halogen-substituted molecules (α-bromo-γ-butyrolactone methyl chloroformate); impregnation electrode by halogenated solvents prior cycling PC-based electrolytes. It appears that reversible capacity is increased ∼10% when such are used. Moreover, dependent on nature lithium salt, concentration halogen specific current.
