摘要: Since 1994, the National Institutes of Health has required inclusion women and minorities in all its sponsored clinical research. This study describes a workable recruitment strategy that embraces requirement. We describe pattern Oklahoma Postmenopausal Women's Study conducted general community City surrounding areas are both urban rural. For period 1994 through 1997, 491 postmenopausal from racial/ethnic groups have participated this study. Over 4 years recruitment, percentage minority population risen annually 31% to 81% 1997. The overall is currently 63.3%: American Indian, 21.8%; Asian, 3.7%; Black, 14.9%; Hispanic, 9.4%; White/American Indian Blend, 13.6%; White, 36.7%. approach described may be implemented variety research settings. Specific approaches described, as well distribution sociodemographic health behaviors across within ethnic/racial groups.
