The molecular structures of blue dichloro-tetrakis(acryl-amide)cobalt(II), [Co{ O -OC(NH 2 )CH CH } 4 Cl ]( 1 ) and pinkhexakis(acrylamide)cobalt(II) tetrachlorocobaltate(II), -OC-(NH 6 ][CoCl ), characterized by single X-ray dif-fraction, IR spectroscopy elemental analyses, are described.The coordination Co II in involves a tetragonally distorted octa-hedral structure with four O-donor atoms acrylamide the Introduction chemistry (AAm CHC(O)NH transition metals is interest dueto biological relevance amide group peptidesand proteins [1 3] context recent public con-cerns on exposure from food its health ef-fects [4].
