摘要: The antifungal profiles of the bark Vitellaria paradoxa were examined against clinical isolates Aspergillus niger, flavus, Epidermophyton floccosum, Microsporum audouinii and Trichophyton mentagrophytes. Decoction method was used for extraction active substances from plant with cold hot water ethanol as solvents. Agar dilution in susceptibility studies while Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC, mg/ml) Fungicidal (MFC, ethanolic extract determined. Generally, most effective, followed by aqueous extract. least effective all test fungi. All extracts exhibited greater activity dermatophytes than sp. Growth T. mentagrophytes completely inhibited both extracts. similarity between low values MIC MFC obtained revealed that possesses potent fungicidal components isolates. rate kill study showed 200mg/ml extract, 10 6 spores/ml reduced over 50% spores . killed after 60 minutes contact time. This therefore suggests V. could contain high concentrations biocidal dermatophytes.
