摘要: BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE: The role of intraoperative angiography in the treatment neurovascular lesions has remained extremely controversial. We retrospectively reviewed utility, safety, and accuracy to ascertain its effect on patients with lesions. METHODS: results 91 treated surgically for intracranial aneurysms 98 arteriovenous malformations (AVMs). All treatments were completed at two major teaching hospitals between October 1987 March 1995. RESULTS: initial angiographic findings caused surgical procedure be modified 24 (26%) 28 (29%) AVMs. Analysis final sequence showed residual nine (10%) aneurysm cases eight (8%) AVM cases. imperfect deemed acceptable because there was either evidence collateral flow when parent vessel occluded or risk further modification considered more dangerous than abnormality itself. Seven suffered complications, which only one had permanent neurologic sequelae: a CNS complication rate 0.5%. Comparison those postoperative studies revealed four false-negative (5.2%). CONCLUSION: Intraoperative is an important component vascular It effective can carried out low this patient population.
