Economic effects of renewable energy expansion: A model-based analysis for Germany

摘要: Abstract The increasing utilization of renewable energy sources (RES) is a major policy strategy in many countries worldwide. Germany forerunner the deployment RES and has ambitious goals for future. support use renewables affects economy: It creates business opportunities sectors producing facilities, but comes with costs related to supporting its deployment. This paper analyses quantifies net balance economic effects associated until 2030. To this end, we novel model, ‘Sectoral Energy-Economic Econometric Model’. an econometric multi-country model which, Germany, contains detailed representation industries, including 14 technology sectors. Our results show that expansion can be achieved without compromising growth or employment. analysis reveals positive effect on Germany. Net employment are small, also positive. Their size depends strongly labour market conditions policies. Results at industry level indicate direction need restructuring across economy.
