摘要: To enable wireless Internet and other data services using mobile appliances, there is a critical need to support content-rich cellular communication, including voice, text, image video. However, communication of multimedia content has several bottlenecks, limited bandwidth networks, channel noise, battery constraints the appliances. We address energy bottlenecks communication. present an efficient, adaptive codec for still images that can significantly minimize required while meeting network, quality, latency service. Based on wavelet compression, we propose efficient transform algorithm (EEWITA) lossy compression images, enabling significant reductions in computation as well needed, with minimal degradation quality. Additionally, identify, parameters be used effect trade-offs between savings, quality image, bandwidth. also dynamic configuration methodology selects optimal set under service, appliance constraints. demonstrate air time (service cost) savings possible by proposed different access technologies.
