摘要: The purpose of the present study was to formulate microemulsion systems comprised polyoxyethelene sorbitan ester surfactants (Tweens) + cosurfactant water oil (toluene) and investigate their potential use as absorbents for removal toluene from air. Toluene is an example a volatile organic compound (VOC). microemulsions formed are stabilized by nonionic toluene. results indicate that Tween-60 superior other Tween surfactants, optimum value hydrophile-lipophile balance (HLB) 15. performances cosurfactants followed order n-butylamine>alcohol>butyric acid. experimental showed HLB more meaningful than Bansal, Shah, O’Connell (BSO) equation representing systems. Comparative tests this new absorbent system were performed in double-stirred reactor, absorption consistent with phase diagram. Nonionic surfactant have significant enhancement toluene, indicated much 80.81% being composition diagram, which thus great prospects air pollution remediation.
