R&D COOPERATION BETWEEN FIRMS AND UNIVERSITIES. SOME EVIDENCE IN FIVE EUROPEAN COUNTRIES

摘要: This paper utilizes the Efige data (2007-2009) to identify determinants of university-industry cooperation in five European countries (France, Germany, Italy, Spain, UK). We use a probit model for firm level which incorporates variables innovation activities and traditional R&D cooperation. The results analysis support view that relationships between firms universities have high degree heterogeneity. Traditionally evaluated variables, such as age, exporting, belonging sector, process innovation, are significant only some countries. There also common patterns: probability cooperating with increases innovative capacity almost all Policies size an important factor.
