摘要: There is a growing evidence that reduced iron species may play pivotal role in the reductive transformation of organic pollutants anaerobic environments. It demonstrated that, heterogeneous aqueous solution, Fe{sup 2+} adsorbed to oxide surfaces rapidly reduces nitroaromatic compounds strongly pH-dependent reaction. was also found reaction rate depended on compound/solid concentration ratio indicating presence reactive sites very different reactivities. From relative reduction rates series substituted nitrobenzenes, it concluded adsorption and, depending solution conditions, regeneration are rate-determining steps.
