The effects of iodine on the ultraviolet absorbante spectra of thyroglobulin, casein and insulin

摘要: Abstract The ultraviolet absorbance spectra of thyroglobulin has been determined in dilute solutions. This protein shows maxima at 321, 290, 281, and 247 mμ. In acid solution, there is a marked change the curve 321- 253-mμ regions. On iodination, band region 300–325 mμ markedly intensified. Iodination casein insulin gives similar changes.
