摘要: Numerical solutions of the nonlinear problem steady two-dimensional potential flow past a submerged line vortex are obtained using finite- difference iterative technique previously presented by authors. These compared in detail with third-order perturbation theory solutions. It is found that very good agreement for cases positive circulation strength large enough to produce downstearm waves whose steepness within 15 percent maximum possible irrotational free waves. computed as steep steepest certain experiment involving hydrofoil. For negative circulation, there substantial between numerical results and theory. The failure discussed. Details far-downstream wave system method other high-order free-wave problem. Very most cases.
