摘要: Soil N loss is a significant impediment to maximizing yield and profitability for farmers in Canada. Maintaining the stable plant-available NH4 + form via use of nitrification inhibitors limits potential soil losses from denitrification or leaching. Between 2013 2015, twenty-one research trials were established across major cereal oilseed growing regions Canada evaluate efficacy two commercially available formulated nitrapyrin products, eNtrenchTM N-Serve, at stabilizing protecting against loss. Urea, urea ammonium nitrate (UAN) NH3 fertilizer treatments banded fall spring on fallow land, was sampled depth 60 cm multiple time intervals after application. Fall applications resulted 21–63% more NH4N, 10–19% total mineral N, sampling thaw relative non-stabilized fertilizer. Spring larger pools NH4–N least 8 weeks treatment, they increased by up 25%, compared with treatments. Results suggest that eNtrench N-Serve are useful tools growers looking protect their investment, optimize crop potential, enhance flexibility application timing. itrogen efficiency (NUE) crops generally less than 60% (Ma Dwyer, 1998; Malhi Nyborg, 1991; et al., 2001; Ma 2006). Nitrogen an important factor contributing poor NUE (Malhi 2001). Several studies have attempted quantify under Canadian conditions. Reported using radiolabeled 15 50% applications, slightly lower often range 10–40% 1983, Aulakh Rennie, 1984; 1996; Jayasundara 2007).
