New sensitivity to solar WIMP annihilation using low-energy neutrinos

摘要: Dark matter particles captured by the Sun through scattering may annihilate and produce neutrinos, which escape. Current searches are for few high-energy neutrinos produced in prompt decays of some final states. We show that interactions solar medium lead to a large number pions nearly all Positive muons decay at rest, producing low-energy with known spectra, including ν_e neutrino mixing. demonstrate Super-Kamiokande can thereby provide new probe spin-dependent WIMP-proton cross section. Compared other methods, sensitivity is competitive uncertainties complementary.
