摘要: The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect body weight on processing yields a teleost fish piracanjuba (Brycon orbignyanus, Valenciennes, 1849). Firstly, fingerlings were reared in ponds Fish Culture Animal Sciences Department, Federal University Lavras, M.G. – Brazil, for 18 months. Then, 121 fishes insensibilized, slaughtered, weighed and dissected, order determine percentages head (%CAB), fins (%NAD), visceras (%VIS), skin with scales (%PE), fillet residues (%RF), carcass yield (RCAR) without (RFSP), relation weight. For analyses variances, data distributed over four classes (CP1 = 515 629g; CP2 630 744g; CP3 745 859g; CP4 860 975g) regression equations estimated function mean each class. There no (P>0,05) class RCAR, %NAD %PE. However, linear %CAB (P<0,01), %RF (P<0,01) RFSP (P<0,09) quadratic %VIS (P<0,05) observed. decreased while increased, increase Based these results, it can be concluded that heavier piracanjubas provide larger RFSP, smaller %RF. did not as expected probably because %VIS.
