摘要: Because the birds’ behavior of building nests may influence the safe operation of transmission line tower, this paper puts forward a new kind of recognition scheme basing on digital image processing. After a careful analysis of different characteristics of the images with bird's nest and without nest, it is proposed that a large area connected region recognition algorithm. Firstly this algorithm transforms digital images into gray level. Secondly in order to reduce the influence of background on targets, iterative global threshold method is used. Then block statistics reduce the complexity of calculation and the potential impact of individual area pixel point on whole target recognition. Finally the judgment is finished by image geometric center. The scheme is simple to be used and calculation quantity is small, which is very suitable for transmission line monitoring and early warning.
