摘要: The M protein of rheumatogenic group A streptococci induces carditis and valvulitis in Lewis rats may play a role pathogenesis rheumatic heart disease. To identify the epitopes M5 that produce valvulitis, synthetic peptides spanning A, B, C repeat regions contained within extracellular domain streptococcal were investigated. region NT4, NT5/6, NT7 induced similar to intact pepsin fragment protein. T cell lines from with recognized NT5/6 NT6. Passive transfer an NT5/6-specific line into naive produced characterized by infiltration CD4+ cells upregulation VCAM-1, while NT6-specific did not target valve. Our new data suggests protein-specific be important mediators rat model carditis.
