摘要: Unconsolidated surface soil and dust samples of varying trace element (TE) content were collected from remote locations in central south-eastern Australia. The finer grained fraction the ( 1, especially siliceous, TE-depleted dusts. In contrast, TE-enriched by primary silicate minerals eroded igneous metamorphic rocks can produce PM10/PMPAR 10 µm but these diminish size with time sedimentological transport so that PM10 aerosol concentrations elements are typically telescoped into a narrower range than PMPAR. Nb is strongly fractionated PM10, Nb/TiO2 ratios characteristic durable host mineral rutile all most PM. TE continental dusts controlled both physical chemical processes. Fresh silicates suppress low ionic potential, whereas opposite effect induced hydraulic sorting and/or attrition during transport, as well clay absorbtion fixation small, resistant accessory minerals.
