Movement and psychodynamic pattern changes in long-term dance/movement therapy groups

摘要: The benefits of performing long-term dance/movement therapy process research are underscored by this study. Shifts among selected movement and psychodynamic variables were tracked at set time intervals over the duration 2 two-year long psychodynamically-oriented groups; two groups combined into one for purpose statistical analyses. findings confirmed clinically-predicted changes participants relative to individual interactional style, with respect following variables: object-choice prevailing fantasy, affective theme explored, level group trust selfesteem experienced, perception therapist (as an experiential container, a provider structure, interpreter meaning). results further revealed several patterns within as well between some studied. For example, different emerged regard their fantasy themes explored. Additonally, working through anger rage was followed rise in self-esteem during first year; latter turn, succeeded exploration issues intimacy-dependency separation-loss second year. clinical implications discussed. Support found application attachment-separation developmental framework evolving therapeutic process.
