摘要: Jarositic pedofeatures are a significant mineralogical indicator of the weathering conditions in ASS wetland environments. The geochemical processes reductive dissolution natural jarosite presented for tidally inundated acid sulfate soil (ASS) northeastern Australia. extent was determined from mineral micromorphology and by identifying differences along toposequence. With increasing pH decreasing Eh under tidal inundation, reduction Fe(III) minerals occurred became increasingly unstable. Direct evidence scanning electron microscopy (SEM) x;ray diffractometry (XRD) identified structure composition consistent with jarosite. Natural intertidal zone exhibited features associated dissolution. Molar ratios Fe to K indicated depletion downslope. Results provide important insights observed predicted variability stability inundation.
