摘要: Cerebral cavernous malformations (CCMs) are frequently associated with a seizure disorder, and the risk of developing drug-resistant epilepsy (DRE) is substantial, especially for temporal lobe lesions. This article includes review literature on surgical treatment to CCMs in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) era, as well an analysis Authors' experience this field. It concluded that microsurgery valuable option, which may provide excellent results seizures, 76% patients average being seizure-free after surgery. Nevertheless, optimal strategy achieve control has not been clearly identified, several attitudes have reported literature. The choice lesionectomy, or removal surrounding hemosiderin, versus resections extended epileptogenic cortex depends accurate scrutiny factors, should be investigated through adequate epileptological presurgical workup. include epilepsy-oriented brain MRI study, integrated by appropriate neurophysiological clinical assessment, if needed other functional evaluations. Besides representing option CCM-related DRE cases, considered also at presentation cases recent-onset sporadic protect patient from both possible development drug resistance haemorrhage.
