Osteoporosis Education Programs: Changing Knowledge and Behaviors

摘要: Osteoporosis is an age related metabolic disease that primarily affects women and causes bone demineralization results in fractures. Early identification of risk factors for osteoporosis development prevention programs needed to halt the increasing incidence disease. Public health nurses (PHNs), with their emphasis on primary, secondary, tertiary individuals families, are a unique position protect these vulnerable populations who at osteoporosis. This article describes implementation program evaluation three educational use levels intensity design. Each design based upon learning needs targeted audience. The goals each were increase knowledge osteoporosis, beliefs, frequency preventing behaviors. Theoretical aspects from adult Health Belief Model (HBM) used develop programs. For evaluation, participants completed instruments before 3 weeks after participating education program. Participants all had significantly higher completing programs; however, overall, there was no change beliefs or Implications findings discussed.
