摘要: This paper empirically examines a corporate community involvement (CCI) initiative in Bangladesh. Drawing on conceptual framework of 'collaborative betterment' and empowerment' by using focus group discussions interviews, it assesses the to examine extent which meets expectations where operates. Some key findings include: (i) although provides vital healthcare services some most vulnerable desperately poor communities, level actual engagement local people - main stakeholders has been marginal; (ii) when principles collaborative betterment empowerment are considered, can be concluded that struggles even as 'betterment' process; (iii) notwithstanding rhetoric high-blown statements, role terms practical efforts field mostly superficial limited.
