摘要: Soil compaction leads to changes in soil physical properties such as density, penetration resistance and porosity, and, by consequence, affects root plant growth. The initial growth of Brazilian pine is considered being more affected than chemical conditions, the presence a well-developed tap system has been associated with this fact. A greenhouse experiment was conducted order evaluate impact on seedlings their susceptibility simulated drought period. In first phase experiment, effects three levels morphology were examined. cylinders artificially compacted PVC tubes. Pre-germinated seeds planted, 147 days later 10 plants from each treatment harvested for analysis. Higher values density shorter thicker root. Growth lateral roots shoots remained unaffected at stage. second phase, half (12) drought-stressed withholding water period 77 days. Increased again resulted reduced length increased diameter main This time, also extended roots. Shoot extension overall mass, however, compaction. greater mass accumulation growing under may be attributed intimate contact between particles. Drought stress both shoot growth, but negatively high Future investigations should include wider range better establish relationship parameters
