摘要: An instrumental set-up based on an inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer (ICP-MS) was developed with the objective to monitor trace elemental composition of industrial ethene gas. For this, a dual-sample introduction system built enabling use aqueous solutions as reference. Since both short- and long-term concentration variations had be addressed, ICP-MS instrument installed continuous on-line instrument. Consequently, complete placed in unmanned plant laboratory were it operative for year. The immense amount data obtained processed off-line by means partially in-house software. Herewith, averages accompanying standard deviations at three different timing levels which could detected examined. This study revealed that polymer-grade produced (extreme) low inorganic impurities found. only significant caused nitrogen showing up polyatomic species masses. performance under these very demanding conditions showed this type instrumentation can used effectively monitor.
