Testing Psychiatric Diagnostic Recognition Skills with Video Vignettes

摘要: While the use of video-tape in evaluating student performance history and physical examination process has proven to be an extremely effective tool, there been little test diagnostic recognition skills. We developed assessment approach measure second year medical students’ abilities recognize common psychiatric diagnoses. selected 12 cases from preexisting video vignettes that had by American Psychiatric Association specifically illustrate problems or The ranged 20–30 seconds length. Students were asked three questions for each vignette a total 36 items using large menu R type format. was administered auditorium with 202 students. Total testing time 30 minutes. overall reliable case variability, not unanticipated, being greatest source error. Although this first form used, 75.1% students agreed they would like see more tests given Testing over 200 skills simultaneously short proved efficient is recommended expanded application.
