摘要: Objective: The mirror neuron system (MNS) is an observation-execution matching activated, in humans, during action observation, motor learning, and imitation of action. We used functional MRI (fMRI) to investigate the properties MNS patients with multiple sclerosis (MS). Methods: Using a 3 tesla scanner, we acquired fMRI 16 right-handed relapsing-remitting MS 14 controls. Two tasks were studied. first consisted repetitive flexion-extension last four fingers right hand (simple task) alternated epochs rest; second (MNS observation movie showing another subject while performing same task. Results: During simple task, compared controls, had more significant activations contralateral primary sensorimotor cortex supplementary area. both groups showed activation several visual areas, infraparietal sulcus, inferior frontal gyrus (IFG), bilaterally. IFG areas significantly active than between-group interaction analysis that MS, part regions also Conclusions: This study suggests increased (MS) normal level function widespread CNS damage. potentialities this facilitating clinical recovery other neurologic conditions should be investigated.
