A facile strategy to fabricate high-quality single crystalline brookite TiO2 nanoarrays and their photoelectrochemical properties

摘要: Vertically aligned high-quality single crystalline brookite TiO2 nanoarrays were synthesized for the first time using an environmentally benign one-step hydrothermal reaction. They have a unique bullet-shaped structure which has length of 700–1000 nm and width 150–250 with sharpened tip structure. By adjusting concentration NaOH in reaction, we could also synthesize other types nanostructures including anatase nanotubes/nanowires. The morphologies crystal structures products confirmed by scanning electron microscopy, transmission microscopy X-ray diffraction analysis. Their vertically facilitate their application as photoanodes photoelectrochemical cells, properties such photocurrent density open circuit voltage measured three-electrode electrochemical cell nanoarrays, Ag/AgCl Pt flag working, reference counter electrodes, respectively, incorporating 0.1 M electrolyte solution. fabricated exhibited highly enhanced longer lifetime compared similar lengths.
