摘要: Tarring pebbles have been used by Native Americans of southern California for thousands years to melt, apply, and spread asphaltum. Although tarring are frequently observed in the archaeological record, they seldom analyzed. In this study, we use size construct a classification typology found at three sites on San Nicolas Island, California. Three separate pebble clusters exhibit particular characteristics that distinct from one another. Our research suggests with specific attributes were being targeted purposes, allowing us based size.
