摘要: To determine whether tumor necrosis factor (TNF) and interleukin-1 (IL-1) might be involved in the pathogenesis of sickle cell disease its complications, TNF-alpha IL-1-alpha were measured using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay 59 plasma samples from 34 adult subjects with Hb SS or SC who did not have documented infections. Tumor was elevated on at least one occasion 27 subjects, including 18 21 steady state 13 19 during painful crisis. Interleukin-1 6 3 All IL-1 also had TNF. similarly No correlation noted between TNF levels extent activation coagulation, as by fibrin D-dimer fragment, overall severity vascular occlusive each subject, presence specific complications. We conclude that is frequently disease, some subjects. A direct role for these cytokines occlusion demonstrated, but an indirect excluded.
