摘要: We study the gravitational waves generated during collapse of a slowly rotating, pressureless, constant density star. To first order in rotation rate perturbation is an odd-parity dipole and generates no waves. The perturbation, however, drives quadrupole deformation which second produces radiation. Using gauge invariant description, we derive equations governing this perturbation. These are then applied to case uniformly rotating constant-density star following sudden turnoff pressure. Numerical results given for waveforms energies generated.
