Self-Assembly of Foldedm-Phenylene Ethynylene Oligomers into Helical Columns

摘要: Circular dichroism spectroscopy has been used to study the self-assembly of two series m-phenylene ethynylene oligomers in highly polar solvents. The helical conformation shorter oligomer lengths was found be stabilized aqueous acetonitrile solutions, while longer began interact intermolecularly. intermolecular aggregation solutions revealed a chain length dependent association that required presence stable conformation. Evidence for interactions is provided by Sergeants and Soldiers experiments which twist sense bias chiral transferred an achiral oligomer.
