摘要: Purpose Contact lenses have direct contact with the corneal surface and can induce sight-threatening infection of cornea known as Acanthamoeba keratitis. The objective this study was to evaluate dysprosium-based nanoparticles (Dy-based NPs), namely Fe3 O4 -PEG-Dy2 O3 nanocomposites Dy(OH)3 nanorods, an active component against sp., well possibility their loading onto drug administering vehicle treat keratitis (AK). Methods Dy-based NPs were synthesized, they loaded commercial lenses. content release kinetics determined based on absorbance colloidal solution before after soaking cytotoxicity evaluated, IC50 values antiamoebic activity sp. by MTT colorimetric assay, followed observation morphological changes using light microscopy. mechanism action evaluated DNA laddering assays. Results efficiencies lens in range 30.6-36.1% respect initial concentration (0.5 mg ml-1 ). Dy released flux approximately 5.5-11 μg cm-2 hr-1 , completed within 10 hr. emission consistently showed a peak at 575 nm due Dy3+ ion, offering possible monitoring tracking NPs. SEM images indicated are aggregated ladder assay suggested that cells underwent fragmentation, cell death most probably necrosis, rather than apoptosis. -PEG, Dy(NO3 )3 .6H2 O value being 4.5, 5.0, 9.5 22.5 respectively. Conclusions Overall findings be considered agents possess potential drugs could lenses; thus, potentially utilized
