摘要: Background: There is paucity of data on heart failure (HF) in the Gulf Middle East. The present paper describes rationale, design, methodology and hospital characteristics first acute registry (Gulf CARE). Materials Methods: CARE a prospective, multicenter, multinational patients >18 year age admitted with diagnosis HF (AHF). collected included demographics, clinical characteristics, etiology, precipitating factors, management outcomes AHF. In addition, about readmission rates, procedures mortality at 3 months 1-year follow-up were recorded. Hospital care provider details collected. Data entered dedicated website using an electronic case record form. Results: A total 5005 consecutive enrolled from February 14, 2012 to November 13, 2012. Forty-seven hospitals 7 States (Oman, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Kuwait, United Emirates, Qatar Bahrain) participated project. majority community (46%; 22/47) followed by non-University teaching (32%; 15/47 University (17%). Most had intensive or coronary unit facilities (93%; 44/47) 59% (28/47) having catheterization laboratory facilities. However, only 29% (14/47) clinic facility. (71%) cared for cardiologist. Conclusions: prospective AHF East, intending provide unique insight into East predominantly provided cardiologists. obtained this will help local clinicians identify deficiencies as well platform implement evidence based preventive treatment strategies reduce burden region.
