Economical evaluation of electricity generation considering externalities

摘要: Abstract The economics of renewable energy are the largest barrier to penetration. Nevertheless, strong desire reduce environmental emissions is considered a great support for sources. In this paper, full analysis cost kWh electricity generated from different systems actually used in Egypt presented. Also proposed and their costs analyzed. considers external generating systems. A large scale PV plant 3.3 MW, wind farm 11.25 MW grid connected at sites investigated. life cycle each system was performed using present value criterion. comparison results showed that generation has lowest cost, followed by combined cycle–natural gas fired system. photovoltaic still uses comparatively expensive technology generation; even when capital needs be reduced about 60% order economically competitive.
