摘要: Publisher Summary This chapter elaborates about kinetic and equilibrium studies on the autoreduction of horse-heart ferricytochrome c. X-ray crystallographic c have conclusively proved that heme group lies in a crevice formed by polypeptide chain with only one its edges exposed to solvent, thus confirming structure. Horse-heart cytochrome was prepared as described for bovine-heart obtained monomeric form molecular sieve chromatography Sephadex G-75. Ferricytochrome is spontaneously reduced within whole pH range from 6.7 11.0, i.e., slowly absence any chemical reducing agent. The followed over period several hours, until steady state oxidation/reduction obtained.
