摘要: An electron microscope examination of neutron damage in graphite single crystals irradiated at 900°C and 1200°C reveals two types defect, which have been identified by detailed studies their diffraction contrast. Large interstitial loops radius about 350 A are surrounded small vacancy appear to form stress fields. After annealing 1820°C some the sheared a configuration lower stacking fault energy. This behaviour is unexpected casts doubt on previous identifications defect graphite. possible mechanism for this phenomenon discussed `A over A' energy estimated be 70 erg cm-2.
