Parallelized correlator bank for a 1 GHz bandwidth phase modulated CW radar in the 79GHz band

摘要: The interest for mmWave automotive radar systems comes from the booming market driver assistance systems. 77–81 GHz band has been allocated vehicular radar. Such radars can be used a wide variety of applications such as collision avoidance, adaptive cruise control, lane-change or monitoring surroundings car. 79 PMCW system belongs to this family. It not only measure distance but also velocity targets. In paper, we propose an optimized hardware implementation correlator bank phase-modulated that modulates carrier with 1 GSps Pseudo-noise sequence. leverages advanced FPGA platform by using BPS software BEEcube. After integration digital logic and analog transceiver, real target detection test performed in lab verify DSP functionality specifications system. is shown support high sampling rate resulting range resolution 0.15 m.
