摘要: The bivalve mollusc Dreissena polymorpha colonized Lake St. Clair in 1986 as a result of ballast water discharge. present study shows that since initiating reproduction 1988, its population density at all the sites originally has increased more than 1000-fold. species has, well, expanded range dramatically. and increase is not yet complete, populations most remain dominated by juveniles. Densities excess 5000 individuals/m2 seem likely to be achieved within 5 years. It appears D. will have significant impact on composition benthos. Shells individual unionids carry 10 000 polymorpha, lipid reserves such are only half those unaffected individuals.
