摘要: The glycerolipid headgroups serve as the hydrophilic plane of membrane bilayer and on one hand provide interface between its milieu while other hand, internal cytosol membrane. In previous chapter we pointed out that “backbone” glycerolipids is alcohol — glycerol. various phospholipids third serial number carbon atom (sn 3) undergoes esterification with a phosphate (PO4) group to initially form phosphatidic acid. latter considered parent compound from which species may be derived. sn 3 also bind either carbohydrate (primarily galactose or glucose) sulphur containing constituent in case respectively galactolipids sulpholipids are formed. sphingolipids basic not glycerol but rather sphingosine anchoring function joining headgroup two non-polar tails fulfilled by serine-derived section forming initial atoms this long chained alcohol.
