摘要: Avifaunal study was carried out in Panipat refinery area before and after commissioning. A total of 63 birds were observed during the study, which 39 49 present 1992 2001 respectively. Of these, 25 common both period. Blue rock pigeon most dominant whereas house sparrow 2001. Species diversity index found to be 5.26 6.64 respective years. Jaccard’s Sorenson similarity indices 0.40 0.57 Majority insectivorous habits followed by granivorous piscivorous The reveals that less when commissioned, but more especially aquatic ones commissioning refinery. This has been attributed increase habitats due developments wetlands outside refinery, development green belt around cover boosting agroforestry social forestry.
