摘要: Supplementary sacculi (sacs) at the openings of cheek pouches are a unique anatomical structure found only in two species Phodopus hamsters: sungorus and P. campbelli, subject this report. Vasilieva Feoktistova (1993) demonstrated importance creamy secretion from these sacs campbelli for normal growth, development, survival during first month life. Aside its possible role nutrition, strong smelling is suspected to play roles intraspecific communication (Feoktistova Vasilieva, 1995) defensive interactions (Krischke, 1986). We propose here that odorous also used scent mark cached foods with odors function facilitate food’s retrieval.
