摘要: A huge body of research in humans and monkeys has provided evidence for altered processing items that are presented close to the hands. At same time, underlying mechanisms explain why objects hands processed differently from far still debated. Empirical demonstrations have involvement bottom-up influences, but also top-down influences task relevance. Objects change spatial attentional or subject increased cognitive control. The present study demonstrated variations task-processing demands predicted hand posture influence on conflict resolution a Simon task. Participants responded with their either at monitor (close stimuli) knees (far stimuli). effect was significantly reduced hands-close as compared hands-far condition when participants performed numerical size judgment (Exps. 1 2). In contrast, consisted low-level perceptual feature discrimination (i.e., color task, Exp. obtained specificity provides further highly flexible system underlies effects stimulus processing.
