摘要: Diaspora migration is one of many types likely to increase considerably during the early twenty-first century. This article addresses ambiguities that surround diaspora with a view developing meaningful theoretical scheme in which better understand processes involved. The term has acquired broad semantic domain. It now encompasses motley array groups such as political refugees, alien residents, guest workers, immigrants, expellees, ethnic and racial minorities, overseas communities. used increasingly by displaced persons who feel, maintain, invent or revive connection prior home. Concepts include history dispersal, myths/memories homeland, alienation host country, desire for eventual return – can be ambivalent, eschatological utopian ongoing support homeland and, collective identity defined above relationship. considers four central issues: How does theory link into other issues? different from migration?
