摘要: The effects of adding a bulking agent and chemically pretreating municipal kitchen waste before aerobic composting were studied using laboratory-scale system. system used 20-L reactors each test lasted 28days. objective was to decrease NH3 H2S emissions during composting. agent, dry cornstalks, mixed with the give mixture containing 15% (wet weight) agent. A combined treatment also conducted, in which pretreated ferric chloride (FeCl3). Less leachate produced by composted than alone, when materials had reached required maturity. presence cornstalks caused less be emitted, but little impact on amount emitted. FeCl3 found act as an effective chemical flocculant, its significantly decreased amounts Kitchen treated emitted 42% 76% did pure waste.
