摘要: Red mud is a solid waste derived from the processing of bauxite ore to produce alumina. It considered hazardous due its high pH. The use supplementary cementitious materials (SCMs) such as red and metakaolin part binders for concrete has been increasing throughout world, particularly in production strength performance concrete. This paper describes collected after calcination at distinct temperatures (450, 650, 1,000 °C) attempting improve reactivity. Materials with pozzolanic characteristics may partially replace cement mortars or concrete, known benefits on durability products. Mortars containing up 30 wt% were prepared characterized. Their activity index was evaluated based physical mechanical parameters (EN 4220) chemical analysis 196-5). By comparing reference mixture without mud, obtained results confirm potential additive materials.
