摘要: Abstract Head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) is a highly morbid, genetically unstable disease derived from the mucoepithelium of upper aerodigestive tract. Recent characterization this has implicated PI3K-Akt-mTOR pathway as one most frequently dysregulated pathways. As such, there are several classes PI3K inhibitors currently undergoing clinical trials. In article, we review pathway, mutations in HNSCC, drugs that target PI3K, impact these agents on GSK-3 signaling axes, ongoing trials evaluating inhibitors, challenges using clinic.
