摘要: Background: HIV-positive patients treated for syphilis may be at increased risk serological failure. Objective: To compare follow-up serologies and responses to treatment between HIV-negative attending two sexually transmitted disease (STD) clinics. Study design: Existing records were reviewed from who diagnosed the public STD clinics in Baltimore, Maryland, USA, 1992 2000. Results of their compared with those clinic time treatment. Failure was defined as lack a fourfold drop rapid plasma reagin (RPR) titre by 400 days after or 30 days. Results: Of 450 syphilis, 288 (64%) did not have documented 129 (28.5%) met inclusion criteria; 168 (17%) 1000 known similarly eligible. There 22 failures group 5 (p Conclusion: higher Despite recommendations more frequent follow-up, most documentation response standard syphilis.
