摘要: Introduction Venous thromboembolism (VTE) is an omnipresent threat encountered in the daily routine of every surgical unit. Neurosurgical patients are furthermore characterized by two mutually aggravating particularities: integral risk for VTE and ominous outcomes case post-operative intracranial haemorrhage. Hence, it comes as no surprise that satisfactory level evidence has yet been reached regarding efficacy safety thromboprophylaxis, nor accurate cost-effective means screening test developed promptly diagnosing VTE.
