摘要: Several teas and herbal infusions are asserted as health promoters due to their content in antioxidant compounds. However the chemical methods of analysis assess antioxidants do not give information regarding biological activity studied substances. In present study eight medicinal plants (3 C. Sinensis, R. Canina, Menta Piperita, S. Officinalis, I. Paraguariensis Arabica, Robusta blend) well various compounds naturally contained these were screened capacities, through cellular assays. Such selected wide utilization, both ingredients cosmetics products food formulations. The main purpose was antioxidative capability measured human cells, efficiency protection against peroxyl radicals under physiological conditions, later predict vivo activity. plant extracts here tested found be successfully absorbed, at different proportions, into cells. a lack correlation between assay cell-based observed. Care should taken when assessing power with purely methods. Unlike assays, assays better reflect complexity models, considering some important aspects uptake, distribution metabolism environment, thus could sustain research on prior animal studies or clinical trials.
